Our Projects
Current projects
We have been involved with the De Doorns community since 2009 and are very proud of the fact that we’ve done a lot to uplift this very poor community. To date we have done the following:
- Repainted the primary school classrooms
- Gave the grade 1’s “back to school packs”.
- Gave free eye tests and spectacles to the community
- Gave free dental care to the community
- With the help of Bobby Skinstad’s “Bob’s for Good Foundation” we gave each child a pair of brand new pair of shoes
Our work at De Doorns continues, and we have embarked on a major and exciting new phase of involvement. In 2011 we hope to build the school a new library!
The scope of the project is larger than anything than what we’ve ever done, so we are going to need your help. We aim to construct a building of approximately 140 sqm with enough space to contain 1000 to 2000 books and 27 computer stations!
One of our partners, The Kanye Project, has already been kind enough to sponsor all 27 computers, security and air conditioning – they’re just waiting for us to complete the building!
We estimate that the project will cost over R500000 to complete.
Past projects
We endeavour to give regular feedback on what we’ve been up to and how we’ve allocated our members and partners’ financial contributions.
